Pastor Thad Key
Converted to Christ at age ten, Thad Key at the young age of fourteen felt the call of God upon his life to be a minister of the Gospel, a preacher and teacher of God’s Word. He received from the University of Mobile his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Religion (Christian Studies) and a minor in History.
While at the University of Mobile, Thad received the R.G. Lee Preaching Award, the first ever freshman to have received this honor. He was also selected for Theta Alpha Kappa, National Honor Society for Religious Studies/Theology, 2001, as well as Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges, 2003.
Soon after graduating college, the Lord brought to Thad a young lady to be his partner in life and ministry. A native of Prattville, Alabama, Kimberly Littlejohn and Thad would become united in marriage on July 19, 2004. Soon thereafter, he attended Beeson Divinity School for three years working toward a Master of Divinity. While there he served as the Research Assistant to Dr. Timothy George, the Dean of Beeson.
Sensing the Lord’s urging to move forward in his ministry, on May 19, 2009 Thad accepted the position of Pastor/Teacher of the historic Salem Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to coming to Salem, for ten years Thad served at various churches in Alabama as both a Student Minister and College Minister.
